RollsPack Supports Australia Post Smart Circular Satchel Project Recognised in 2026 PIDA Awards

RollsPack is proud to have contributed to the Australia Post Smart Circular Satchel project, recently named a finalist in the 2026 PIDA Australasian Packaging Innovation and Design Awards across three categories:

• Outside of the Box Design
• Sustainable Packaging Design
• Domestic & Household

The Smart Circular Satchel was developed as part of Australia Post’s National Circular Textiles Pilot, supporting a more sustainable and circular approach to packaging and textile recovery across Australia.

As part of the project, RollsPack contributed to the converting and printing of the satchels using material produced from 100% recycled Australian household soft plastics. The final packaging solution was developed to meet the durability and performance requirements needed for use within the Australia Post postal network while supporting circular economy objectives.

The satchel was designed to help customers return end-of-life clothing through the Australia Post network for sorting and recycling, helping keep valuable materials in circulation and supporting resource recovery outcomes.

This initiative highlights how innovation and collaboration can create practical sustainability solutions within the packaging industry. The project demonstrates the potential for recycled soft plastics to be transformed into functional packaging solutions with real world environmental benefits.

Designed and delivered within a short project timeframe, the Smart Circular Satchel showcases how sustainable packaging innovation can support broader circular economy initiatives while maintaining performance, quality and usability.
