PKN’s 60 Of The Best

We are incredibly honoured to have featured in PKN’s 2020 ’60 of the best’ list, featured in their 60th anniversary edition. PKN is Australia’s leading media brand for all things packaging and we appreciate their commitment to consistently delivering high-quality content and news in our ever-changing industry. Their ’60 of the best’ list recognises and celebrates those who are creating positive change within the packaging industry. It highlights those passionate entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in an industry that will see significant change in the years to come.

Our History & Growth

RollsPack was founded in 1986 as a carry bag manufacturer before transitioning into banking, security and courier packaging becoming Australia’s leading tamper-evident bag manufacturer. In 2014 with the decline of cash in circulation the business moved into the FMCG food packaging market and since then has built an enviable portfolio of customers. In 2015 we were nominated for the business of the year award. We are proud to have our work recognised by the FPLMA, winning multiple awards in 2017, 2018 & 2019.

Modern Day

Today our primary factory is located in Braeside, Victoria but we have additional locations in Hamilton, New Zealand and Huai’an, China as well as an agent in the USA. We work with a variety of industries and provide innovative food, security and e-commerce packaging solutions. Our clients benefit from our versatility as we can source these products from overseas or produce them locally allowing us to provide a uniquely tailored service. We are a strong advocate for strengthening connections with the community and playing an active role in supporting local charities such as Kids Undercover. We’re also focused on how we can make our operation as sustainable as possible, utilising solar panels which make our manufacturing facility 100% energy efficient during daylight hours. We also recycle the heat generated by our machines and recycle all our waste. In 2020, RollsPack is proud to have partnered with the REDcycle program, an initiative designed to recover and recycle plastics that would otherwise go to into landfill.

Our Commitment to Innovation

We appreciated PKN’s wonderful article recognising RollsPack’s quest for innovation. When writing about RollsPack’s managing director Phillip Rolls it highlighted that he “has led his own packaging company to success through a pioneering spirit”. RollsPack embodies this spirit today just as much as it did back when it first began. It remains an intensely future-focused organisation, always looking ahead to what the market will need in the years to come. In 2014 we became the first Australian company to have Gravure printing capabilities and we were also the first to possess local pouch making machines. In 2020 we will become the first company in the world to utilise digital flexographic printing. What drives us is our desire to lead the way by seeking out innovative technology that will enhance our capabilities and improve our products.
