RollsPack Receives Bronze at the 2026 FTA Excellence in Flexography Awards
RollsPack has received a Bronze Award at the 2026 Excellence in Flexography Awards for The Muesli Company Instant Oats packaging.
The entry was recognised in the Wide Web, Process, Film category, highlighting the technical skill and precision required to produce high-quality flexible packaging at scale.
The Excellence in Flexography Awards are run by the Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association in the United States. The annual competition recognises printers and converters for technical difficulty, execution and overall print quality.
More than 250 entries were submitted in 2026, with 43 awards presented across several print categories. These included 12 Gold, 13 Silver and 18 Bronze awards.
Wide web printing received 16 awards, making it the largest category in the competition.
The winners were announced during the FTA FORUM INFOFLEX Awards Banquet in Milwaukee on 26 April 2026.
The Winning RollsPack Entry
RollsPack received Bronze for The Muesli Company Instant Oats packaging in the Wide Web, Process, Film category.
The judges described the entry as: “Nice impression, requires tight registration.”
This short comment highlights one of the most important technical requirements in flexographic printing.
Print registration refers to the precise alignment of each colour and printing plate during production. Even a small amount of movement can cause blurred details, uneven edges or visible gaps between colours.
Maintaining tight registration across a wide web requires accurate plate preparation, controlled press settings, consistent substrate movement and careful monitoring throughout the print run.
The final result must remain clear and consistent while being produced at commercial scale.
What the Award Recognises
The Wide Web, Process, Film category covers flexible packaging printed on film using wide-web flexographic presses.
Process printing uses carefully aligned colour separations to create the complete printed design. Each colour must remain in the correct position so that branding, product information, images and fine details appear as intended.
For food packaging, this level of accuracy is particularly important. The finished pack needs to present the brand clearly, keep important information readable and maintain a consistent appearance across the production run.
The Bronze Award recognises the technical work behind the finished Instant Oats packaging, from preparing the artwork and printing plates through to managing colour, registration and final production.
A Special Presentation in Australia
Although the award was announced in April 2026, RollsPack also had the surprise honour of receiving it in person during the 2026 FPLMA Print Awards.
The award was presented by the FTA President himself, recognising RollsPack’s achievement in the international competition.
Having the award presented during the Australian industry event made the occasion particularly memorable and brought international recognition together with RollsPack’s success in the local packaging industry.
This award reflects the work of the RollsPack print and production teams, along with everyone involved in preparing and delivering the finished packaging.
Producing consistent flexible packaging requires attention at every stage, from artwork and prepress through to colour management, printing and quality checks.
Recognition from the FTA provides an independent assessment of that work against international print standards.
Thank you to the Flexographic Technical Association for the recognition, and to The Muesli Company and everyone involved in the project.
RollsPack will continue to focus on reliable production, consistent print quality and flexible packaging that performs for our customers.
